Danielle Absin is an editor at Linguaphile Magazine. Born in the Philippines and raised in the USA, she grew up eavesdropping on the family chismis in Bisaya, Tagalog, and English. Her experiences living and working abroad in China, Brazil, and South Korea have taught her that an appetite and shopping are excellent motivators for language learning. She can say "Sorry, I am American" in Mandarin, converse in American Sign Language and Korean, and read the entire Brazilian Portuguese translation of Pride and Prejudice mais ou menos.

Thanks to COVID, Danielle graduated on Minecraft with a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley.
